What makes developmental hypnotherapy different?
Many approaches focus primarily on reducing symptoms or changing specific behaviors. While these goals are important, developmental hypnotherapy seeks to understand the deeper beliefs, experiences, relationships, and life patterns that contribute to those challenges.
For example, two individuals may struggle with confidence, procrastination, anxiety, or difficulty sleeping, yet the underlying reasons may be entirely different. One person’s experience may be rooted in early self-doubt or criticism, while another’s may stem from current life transitions, uncertainty, or conflicting priorities.
My approach is guided by the belief that meaningful and lasting change begins with understanding the whole person. Through consultation, reflection, mindfulness, and hypnotherapy, we explore not only what is happening in your life, but also how those patterns developed and what supports growth moving forward.
Rather than focusing solely on problems to be fixed, developmental hypnotherapy emphasizes self-understanding, personal growth, and authentic living. The goal is to help individuals gain insight into themselves, strengthen their inner resources, and move toward lives that feel more aligned with their values, aspirations, and unique life path.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a process that uses focused attention, guided relaxation, and heightened awareness to help individuals explore thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and patterns that may be influencing their lives. It can support personal growth, self-awareness, habit change, confidence, and overall well-being.
What does hypnosis feel like?
Most people describe hypnosis as a state of calm focus and relaxation. It is often similar to becoming deeply absorbed in a book, a movie, a daydream, or a meditation practice. You remain aware of your surroundings and retain control throughout the experience.
Will I lose control during hypnosis?
No. You remain aware and in control throughout the session. Hypnosis is a collaborative process, and you cannot be made to do anything that conflicts with your values, beliefs, or wishes.
Will I be asleep?
No. Hypnosis is not sleep. Although many people experience deep relaxation, they remain aware and able to communicate throughout the session.
Can everyone be hypnotized?
Most people can experience hypnosis to some degree if they are willing to participate and able to focus their attention. Hypnosis is a natural mental state that people enter and leave throughout everyday life.
